Going into the contest after Jim Williams had defeated Max Hopp, the German would have been hoping that Wright could do the business. This was soon dispelled though when Payne went 2-0 up and when he claimed the leg he needed, 'Snakebite' started to claw back the legs. Both players are through though as there is heartbreak for Hopp.
In the final game of the night, it was a straight shoot out for the last spot in Group H between Dimitri van den Bergh and Mark McGeeney.
Van den Bergh smashed the Gladiator 5-1 with a 98 average to ensure his progression through alongside group winner Rob Cross. He hit two 180's with 31% on the doubles and despite a 95 average and two 180's from McGeeney he was easily beaten.
