Beau Greaves at the 2025 World Youth Championship
It was a different stage than Lakeside this weekend for Beau Greaves as she begins the road towards a new part of her career in the PDC World Darts Championship and she joined the annals of darting stars who have competed at Super Darts.
The tournament ran by DartsLive has attracted many a huge name in the past including Phil Taylor to play in the event which often brings the best from Asia with a few wildcard names and those in Europe such as Boris Krcmar and this year France's Lylian Le Calvez as well as Jose Justicia, a familiar name not only on the PDC tour but also in soft tip.
But it was perhaps the addition of Beau Greaves that added even more star value to the line-up as one of the most-talked about darting stars on the planet going into Ally Pally. She won her opener on Saturday against Masahiro Kubota.
But she couldn't go any further as she faced a familiar face in Hong Kong's Man Lok Leung who has previously impressed at Ally Pally and at the World Cup of Darts. She lost 4-1 only winning one round of 501 and losing both cricket rounds in the race to four.
Other Quarter-Finals saw Seigo Asada defeat Jose Justicia 4-3, the latter for all the will in the world looked like the man to beat yesterday. But he lost 4-3. Terry Tan and Minseok Choi took care of Lylian Le Calvez and Keita Ono both 4-3.
Then the final was set up as Asada saw off Terry Tan of Malaysia 4-3. Both coming in the final round which is a choice when it gets that far and it also saw Choi edge past Man Lok Leung in the other tie. While in the final, Choi easily won through winning all four games against Seigo Asada to be crowned the champion and win £48,350 in the end. Superb from a standout too on the Korean Tour, the hope now will be he tries to get to Europe like some of the other top Asian talents and finds a home in steel tip too like Greaves of course has and the likes of Asada, Krcmar and others have in the past.
