Fitton confirmed as final wildcard for World Seniors Darts Championship

With the news that Dennis Priestley will officially not be involved at the World Seniors Darts Championship due to knee surgery, Darryl Fitton has filled the void and is the final wildcard announced for the inaugural event next year.

Fitton is a firm favourite for his walk-on which sees him come to the stage with sunglasses on to the tones of 'One Step Beyond' by Madness.

A multiple BDO event winner including the 2016 World Darts Trophy and 2009 Finder Masters. He has also reached three World Championship semi-finals and finished runner-up in the World Masters.

He joins recent decorated eligible players including Paul Lim, Robert Thornton, Kevin Painter and his close friend, Tony O'Shea.

As well as World Champions headlined by Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, John Lowe, John Part and Bob Anderson among others.

In addition to these initially announced players, there are also two places available through a qualifying tournament. More information about this tournament are not yet known.

The first edition of the World Seniors will be played at the beginning of 2022. An exact date has yet to be announced but the venue is set to be announced early next week.
