Priestley out of World Seniors Darts Championship field

Dennis Priestley will not be involved at the World Seniors Darts Championship in a playing capacity, it has been confirmed.
Priestley previously hinted that he may not be involved due to awaiting knee surgery and now due to medical advice, he won’t be involved.
He will still take his role as an Ambassador in the event but will not take on the likes of Phil Taylor, John Lowe, Bob Anderson and Martin Adams in the first iteration.
The player who will take the vacant place has not yet been announced. 21 of the 24 participants are now known. In addition to the available wild card, there are also two places available through a qualifying tournament. More information about this tournament is not yet known. The first edition of the World Seniors will be played at the beginning of 2022. An exact date has yet to be announced.
