The European Tour is back on Friday afternoon with the start of the
German Darts Championship in a familiar venue of Halle 39 in Hildesheim.
Friday sees the qualifiers come into the fray with ties against seeded players on Saturday awaiting them if they can win through.
The afternoon session sees some well known names in action. Former two-time Lakeside World Champion and Grand Slam winner, Scott Waites begins proceedings against Darren Penhall.
Daniel Larsson, the PDC Nordic and Baltic qualifier will face William O'Connor. Ron Meulenkamp will follow that against Richard North, while Boris Koltsov will return to the European Tour stage after showing impressive form at times during his extended stint in the MODUS Live League and he will face Steve Lennon.
Canada's Number One, Jeff Smith will take on Host Nation Qualifier, Franz Roetzsch. While Cody Harris who was also in action like Smith last week in Salzburg at the World Series of Darts Finals will have a quick return to the stage when he faces Lukas Wenig.
Ronny Huybrechts came through the Associate Member Qualifier alongside Harris and will face Dragutin Horvat in the penultimate tie.
A lot has been made of the race to the World Grand Prix and seemingly for Mervyn King, with others not qualified this weekend, he could get in provisionally with a win against Steffen Siepmann.
