Proceedings continue on Saturday night with the big names joining the action at the
German Darts Championship in Hildesheim.
Michael van Gerwen,
Peter Wright and
Gerwyn Price are among those who begin their campaigns this evening with some tough tests for the trio as the European Tour's return continues.
It all begins with Jonny Clayton against Chris Dobey, the latter will aim to continue his winning form from Friday night where 'Hollywood' added himself to the list of provisional qualifiers for the World Grand Prix next month in Coventry.
Then it is the turn of one of the remaining Host Nation Qualifiers still involved in German Number One, Max Hopp who impressed against Reece Robinson. His next task is Ian White, who is one of the most in-form players on the ProTour and will aim to add another title to his collection this weekend.
Mensur Suljovic will return to action after showing good form in Salzburg albeit losing to Krzysztof Ratajski on home soil. He faces Canada's Number One, Jeff Smith.
Van Gerwen will aim to return to winning ways this weekend when he starts against Steve Lennon, who faced the Green Machine towards the height of his brilliance back in 2018 in the final of the Dutch Darts Masters.
Peter Wright will face Michael Smith in one of the top matches of the session, which comes about due to 'Bully Boy' having to qualify for the tournament. A tough start for 'Snakebite'.
Krzysztof Ratajski made his name in the PDC on the European Tour and he will aim to continue some brilliant form against Richard North.
Another match of the session comes with Gerwyn Price facing Devon Petersen. A fixture of the PDC Summer and Autumn Series. One of their games saw the latter average 113 and lose and their latest saw Petersen go close to winning his first title only to be denied at the finishing line. 'The Iceman' seems to bring the best out of 'The African Warrior' so a top tie should await.
Then it is the turn of Joe Cullen who will aim to get back to some of the darts he played at the Autumn Series after being whitewashed in the World Series Finals against Vincent van der Voort, he faces Adam Hunt.
Finalising proceedings will be home hope Nico Kurz who will face James Wade after the latter missed his flight so the match got changed from the afternoon to the evening. Will the late travel affect 'The Machine' or can he see off the German prospect?
