Durrant sees off Waites in battle of Lakeside World Champions, Cross continues return to form with win over O'Connor

The afternoon session is complete at the German Darts Championship with further success for the seeded players to end proceedings with Glen Durrant and Rob Cross both through to the final day.

Durrant was facing Scott Waites in their first meeting since losing in the former's last Lakeside final victory before he joined the PDC and it was repeat for the Teesside ace who claimed a 6-3 win with a 96 average and a 128 checkout en route.

Cross reached the final at the World Series of Darts Finals in Salzburg and has continued his winning form also winning 6-3 against William O'Connor.

An average of 96.5 and 50% on the doubles saw him over the line as he aims for his first European Tour win despite winning the European Championship last year.
