Wessel Nijman has signed a new contract with
Mission Darts. Nijman has been working with this darts manufacturer since the spring of 2023.
The Dutchman had a memorable debut year on the PDC circuit in 2024. He won his first PDC rankings title and in his first Tour Card year already broke into the top-64 of the world rankings.
Nijman solidified his status as one of the sport's top talents by winning the Development Tour ranking season. During the season, Nijman won seven Development Tour titles.
This also earned him entry into the Grand Slam of Darts. There, Nijman drew attention with a bizarre tournament average of 107, but remarkably, he did lose all three of his group matches. In December, Nijman recorded his first win at Alexandra Palace and made it to the second round of the World Darts Championship.
Meanwhile, Nijman has moved up to 55th place on the PDC Order of Merit. For the upcoming season, Nijman does not yet have to defend any prize money, which means he can really only move up the world rankings. Nijman is happy to continue this mission with the support of Mission.
“I'm very happy to be here and to extend my contract with Mission. I think 2024 couldn't have been much better than it was, not only the way I played but where I stand right now in the rankings.
"At the moment, I'm in more major tournaments than I was last year. I want to try and play in as many major tournaments and Euro Tour events as possible this year, play as much as possible, and try and get better results than 2024."
At Mission Darts, Nijman will receive guidance from darts icon Darryl Fitton. 'The Dazzler' is responsible for the development of players under contract at Mission.
“I'm delighted that Wessel has committed his long-term future with us at Mission.
“He's such an amazing talent and I'm excited to see what he can achieve in the future."
