Having already responded to criticism from
Dennis Priestley earlier in the week,
Luke Littler turned his attention to
Neil Duff on Saturday night — firing back at the Northern Irishman following his early exit from the
MODUS Super Series.
Littler, who was part of England’s surprise early exit from the
World Cup of Darts alongside Luke Humphries, had found himself on the receiving end of pointed comments from Priestley, the two-time world champion. Speaking to OLBG, Priestley didn’t hold back.
“Luke Littler and Luke Humphries let their country down at the World Cup,” he said. “From what we’ve heard, they weren’t sitting together or practising together.”
Priestley also questioned why the pair had received royal honours so early in their careers: “I think they’ll have earned it in a few years’ time, but this feels far too early. They’ve each only won one world title and their careers have just started.”
Littler responded to that criticism on social media earlier in the week — and has now hit out again, this time at Neil Duff, who appeared to take pleasure in England’s shock defeat to Germany’s Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko.
Following the loss, Duff — the 2022 WDF World Champion — posted “How’s England doing?” on Facebook, clearly revelling in the downfall of the pre-tournament favourites.
But Littler got his opportunity to respond on Saturday night when Duff was knocked out during the final session of this week’s
MODUS Super Series, suffering a 4–1 defeat to Martin Thomas in the group stage.
Littler shared a screenshot of Thomas landing the match dart on his Instagram Stories, tagging it with a not-so-subtle caption: “How’s Neil Duff doing?” — a clear shot at the veteran.
With online spats starting to rival on-stage action for drama, Littler’s sharp tongue continues to draw headlines — and shows that the 18-year-old is more than willing to defend himself in the face of criticism from darts’ old guard.
