The PDC Asian Tour 2024 kicked off in Dubai last weekend. Alexis Toylo won no less than two of the three tournaments there.
The Habtoor Palace in Dubai played host to the first three Asian Tour tournaments of the year. In the first tournament, the win went to Toylo, who beat his compatriot and former World Championship participant Pablo Nebrida 5-3 in the final. In the semifinals, they defeated Noel Malicdem - another former World Championship participant and the now 69-year-old darts legend Paul Lim, respectively.
Toylo continued his scintillating form with success in the second tournament later in the day. Including a spectacular 161 finish, he won 5-3 in the final against his compatriot Joel Hizon.
In the third and final tournament, Nebrida picked up the second Asian Tour title of his career when he still managed to win 5-3 over Indian Nitin Kumar after falling behind 3-2.
The highest average was for Man Lok Leung. The Hong Kong-based dart player, who surprisingly beat Gian van Veen in the opening round at Ally Pally, averaged 101.90 in the second round of the final tournament.
Filipino Toylo holds a $1,100 lead over Nebrida in the Asian Tour standings, with Kumar another $1,400 behind him in third place.
