All you need to know PDC Q-School 2022: How to win a Tour Card?

The UK and European PDC Q-School takes place between 9-15 January divided over two locations in Milton Keynes and Niedernhausen. 32 PDC Tour Cards are available for between 2022-2023 seasons.

Fifteen Tour Cards are available at the European Q-School in Niedernhausen. The UK Q-School in Milton Keynes will have seventeen. The number of Tour Cards per location is determined based on the number of registrations.

Q-School divided into two stages

Just like in 2021, the Q-School is divided into two stages. The first stage will take place from 9 to 11 January, followed by the final phase from 12 to 15 January.

Players who lost their PDC Tour Card last season or who finished in the top-8 of the Challenge Tour and Development Tour are directly qualified for the final stage.

The other participants must start in the first phase. Qualification for the final phase is possible by reaching the last four in Niedernhausen on one of the three days, or the last eight in Milton Keynes. If that doesn't work, players have to make sure that as many points as possible are won. Each win in a full round (without byes) is worth a point. Through the Q-School Order of Merit of the first stage, players also advance to the final stage.

Tour Card distribution during final stage

The Tour Cards are only distributed during the final stage. Of the 32 available Tour Cards, eight will be given automatically to day winners.

The remaining 24 Tour Cards can be earned through the Q-School Order of Merit. Points can be earned for each victory (excluding preliminary rounds) on both events.

With several constant results, players can still get a Tour Card in this way, without achieving daily success. During European Q-School, eleven Tour Cards are available via this route, this is thirteen for the UK edition.

What can you do with a Tour Card?

Players in possession of a Tour Card can participate in Pro Tour tournaments. In addition, you can participate in the qualifiers for the Euro Tour events, the qualifiers for the Grand Slam of Darts and World Series of Darts Finals and the World Darts Championship last chance qualifier.

Can you still play on the PDC circuit without a Tour Card?

The PDC Challenge Tour has been set up especially for players who have missed out on a Tour Card. That is usually 24 tournaments, each with a top prize of 2000 pounds.
