"Am I your favourite Welshman right now?": Price reveals texting Clayton after handing compatriot Premier League play-off spot

Last Thursday night as the league phase of this year's Premier League Darts came to a close, all Jonny Clayton needed to ensure progression to the play-offs was to beat Nathan Aspinall. When he failed, Gerwyn Price saved the day for his fellow Welshman.

As such, with both of the Welsh World Cup of Darts team successfully making the play-offs, Price and Clayton will now face off against each other with a spot in the final on the line.

"Jonny is a good friend, Nathan is a good friend too. I was out to win 10 grand, I wasn't out to help anybody," Price told Online Darts. "Lucky for Jonny and unfortunately for Nathan I pipped him in the semi-final."

"I actually text him saying 'am I your favourite Welshman now?'" Price laughs. "I won't be next Thursday but I was last Thursday! He's going to play a blinder I know he is but I'm ready for him."
