It is ground-breaking as well with the qualifier set to feature two American women; following a knockout tournament in Nashville.
The newly formed North American Women's Dart Association held the tournament; with Chicago's Liz Tynan and San Antonio's Debbie Ivey earning themselves a place. Tynan saw off tough competition to move through; defeating US number one Paula Murphy 4-3 in a decider.
Ivey saw off Brenda Roush to move through in another 4-3 scoreline. Tynan spoke afterwards; she said that it means a lot and to have the opportunity to potentially play at the Alexandra Palace is unbelievable.
"It means a lot to win the trip to Germany," said Tynan. "I feel so excited for the opportunity to represent North America.
"I have never had a chance to win something like this before. To have the chance to make it to PDC World Championship stage is unbelievable."
The new association was supported by Bulls-Eye News Magazine with the publisher Rick Smith speaking of his excitement of hosting the tournament. He added that they will be promoting multiple qualifiers next year.
"We are excited to assist in promoting the women's opportunity here in North America.
He added: "We have a deep talent of women players and will be promoting multiple qualifiers over the next year. We would love to see a North American woman make the PDC's big stage at the World Championship."
