The first semi-final on the latest night of
Premier League Darts action is confirmed with
Gary Anderson set to face
Jonny Clayton later in Glasgow.
Anderson had not lost before tonight in the past six visits to the SSE Hydro and in doing so, he dented the aspirations of his compatriot, Peter Wright.
It was a 6-2 rout for ‘The Flying Scotsman’ who punished an out of sorts Snakebite who averaged 87.
This featured a 97.2 average and 66% on the doubles from Anderson who snaps ironically given his streak of wins in Glasgow, a run of six consecutive defeats in the weekly roadshow.
Albeit while his run in this years tournament had come to a close, he will get a crack next at the league leader Clayton who continue to bring the heat at the top of the standings.
He took out last week’s winner, James Wade who will not add to his tally of titles this week after winning in England and Ireland this season, he won’t win in Scotland.
It was another rout with Clayton easing through in a 6-2 victory and he will remain clear come what may tonight.
