Missed doubles from the two-time world champion allowed De Zwaan to take a 3-2 lead into the first commercial break. Anderson started to hit his doubles as he forced a break of throw. ‘The Black Cobra’, however, responded with back-to-back 180’s in the tenth leg to break back and level the match at 5-5.
The pair proceeded to hit 180’s for fun as both held throw in the next four legs. A missed dart at tops for De Zwaan proved costly as ‘The Flying Scotsman’ took out D16 to lead 8-7. The next five legs went with throw as both players’ averaged soared above the 100-mark: 11-9.
The Dutchman then proceeded to miss four darts at doubles to hold throw as Anderson made it a double break in his favor. A 152-checkout helped him further on his way, and the Scot moved within two legs of the match at 15-10 with an important 112-finish. De Zwaan managed to win two more legs, but suffered defeat in the end. Anderson hit D5 to win the match and reach the final
