Gary Anderson returned to darting action on Tuesday evening at the
World Grand Prix after not playing recently at the PDC Autumn Series and World Series of Darts Finals due to travel restrictions.
Anderson saw off Rob Cross in one of the top games of the first round in which he pounced on missed darts at double from 'Voltage' in the second set.
He spoke afterwards and set aim at the World Grand Prix title before he retires as well as admitting once more that practice hasn't been on the agenda before Coventry.
"The first set was absolutely fantastic. The darts felt like they were going great," Anderson said after his win over former world champion Cross.
"I've not spent a lot of time on the practice board since the Premier League so I'm pleased with how this went.
"It's a tournament I would love to win before I retire, but we'll see how we go. I just want to keep playing well and enjoy throwing again."
