Gary Anderson was comfortable in victory over Peter Wright as he won the Champions League for the first time. “The Flying Scotsman” was too strong and prevailed 11-4.

It was an all Scottish final at the Champions League of Darts with Anderson taking on Peter Wright. Both players started strong with a 180 apiece in the opening leg, Anderson broke however, with an 86 finish. The next three legs all went with throw with Anderson pinning double 19 for a 3-1 lead.
“The Flying Scotsman” got a double break, nailing double 10 after “Snakebite” failed to checkout 96. Anderson’s procession continued as held and then broke with a double 8 to 6-1 clear at the break.
Wright rediscovered his finishing as he hit double two and double eight to make it 6-3. Leg 10 was sluggish in terms of scoring but Anderson finished 96 clinically on double 19 to lead by four. The contest grew scrappy and Wright kept things interesting with a double 10 to make it 7-4. “Ando” moved closer to the title by hitting tops to go three legs from glory.
The Brighton crowd was almost £50,000 richer when Anderson hit 6 perfect darts, he didn’t achieve perfection but went 9-4 ahead. In the last leg before the interval, Wright missed double five before Anderson bagged a double eight to go one from the title. The 15th leg proved to be the final one as Anderson powered in a 10 darter to win his first Champions League of Darts.
