Anderson's attempt to play a Euro Tour for the first time since 2016 fails

Gary Anderson last played a Euro Tour tournament in 2016 and for now it will stay that way. An attempt to qualify for the German Darts Grand Prix failed.

The Scot is slowly sinking on the PDC Order of Merit, so he still wants to compete in Euro Tour tournaments again. However, Anderson is also no longer in the top-16 on the Pro Tour Order of Merit, which means 'The Flying Scotsman' does have to play qualifying tournaments first.

Anderson had therefore entered the Tour Card qualifying tournament for the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich. This qualifier was played on Monday afternoon. However, the Scot lost in the first round of the qualifying tournament to Andrew Gilding.

The next two Euro Tour qualifiers will be played on 13 March, including for the Dutch Darts Masters in Leeuwarden. It remains to be seen whether Anderson will make another attempt to secure a spot for a Euro Tour tournament.
