Luke Littler has convincingly reached for the semifinals of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship. The Nuke was far too strong for Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals, taking a 5-2 victory. Next up, the teenage sensation faces off against Stephen Bunting. The latter was 5-2 too strong for Peter Wright.

Littler was in control the entire time, clocking in at an average of 101.54. "It feels amazing, the perfect start to 2025, and it’s sinking in now: two tournaments, two semi-finals, and a step closer. The only thing in my head now is making that second final," said the 17-year-old afterwards, in his post-match press conference.

"Overall it was a good performance. We all know Nathan never gives up, but I pinged my doubles when it mattered tonight," he added. "From start to finish, that’s the best I’ve felt at this tournament - and hopefully I’ll get the same feeling tomorrow night. There were no nerves tonight - I just enjoyed myself, as I should be doing."

Although he is into the semi-finals for the second year running, Littler has far from had things all his own way this tournament. "Everyone saw how I had to dig deep in my first game against Ryan Meikle," he recalls. "And sometimes if you have to win dirty it’s an even better feeling."

It's also now been a full calendar yesr since Littler burst onto the scene at the Alexandra Palace. "From my perspective the last year just flew by, from Euro Tours, Pro Tours and World Series I played," he reflects. "But for the last two years I’ve spent New Year’s Eve chilling in the hotel and that’s hopefully what it’s going to be like every year now."

Although the obstacle of Stephen Bunting remains in the way for Littler, many people are already talking about a dream final between Littler and Michael van Gerwen, who himself must defeat Chris Dobey. "If that’s what everyone thinks, that’s fine - but anything can happen in the semi-finals of the World Championship," Littler insists. "Stephen and I both know how well we can play against each other so it’s going to be about whoever turns up tomorrow night."
