Lisa Ashton and Fallon Sherrock will lead the way at the inaugural PDC Women's World Matchplay which will take place on Sunday 24 July in Blackpool and will be televised.

Eight players will compete at the Winter Gardens for the top prize of £10,000 and a place at the Grand Slam of Darts. 'The Lancashire Rose' who has won seven titles on the Women's Series this season will be top seed and with Sherrock second, it means they could meet in the final which will likely be the main narrative going into the tournament.
For Ashton, it is Chloe O'Brien first up, while for Sherrock, she faces rising Irish star, Katie Sheldon who has been performing well on the Development Tour as well as the Women's Series and could cause 'The Queen of the Palace' problems.
Former World Master, Lorraine Winstanley will also be among the favourites with the Buxton ace winning her maiden Women's Series title this past weekend and she will face Rhian Griffiths.
While similarly experienced, Aileen de Graaf will also be involved facing Laura Turner who will likely be in Blackpool covering the main World Matchplay for Sky Sports as a pundit and commentator but roles will now be reversed.
In terms of those missing out, Mikuru Suzuki will be the main name who will not be playing in Blackpool finishing 16th in the pre Women's World Matchplay Order of Merit. While Rhian O'Sullivan, Corrine Hammond and Kirsty Hutchinson finished just outside of the places.
Trina Gulliver was in provisionally but finished the weekend in 11th after not playing in Barnsley due to illness, while Deta Hedman has plied her trade mostly on the WDF circuit so couldn't produce a last gasp qualification this weekend.
