Deta Hedman recently claimed a sweep of the WDF Ladies tournaments sealing the Scottish and Denmark Open.
Hedman spoke to the Inside the WDF podcast after her triumph in the former and spoke also about her shoulder problem in a variety of topics.
"I'll be honest with you last night it gave me hell. There's never a day goes by that it doesn't, it's going to be a long process. As I say to Paul (her partner), will I ever get better I don't know, but I just keep doing all my exercise. Some nights it's not so bad. I'll just go with it, what will be, will be," said Hedman to
Inside the WDF.
"It's my tendon so I have to keep doing the exercise they gave me and just keep hoping it will eventually get better. I have a painkiller patch and kinetic tape on it when I'm playing or working. If you notice I wear one of those sleeves now, it's something I do all the time when I play darts."
Ranking her Scottish Open win In terms of the Scottish Open win, Hedman admits she doesn't really pay attention to the number of titles she has won and how they rank.
"They're all great tournaments. Antony (Dundas) said to me on the Sunday, how many titles is that and I said to him don't ask me, ask Paul. I just go play, enjoy and when it's done, I'm off home back to work, brush myself down and get ready for the next one.
"I don't think I'm going to win this, I go and try and enjoy myself. That's probably why I do as well as I do."
An interesting decision also saw Hedman skip the Women's Series tournaments and being part of the WDF board, it was simply a no-brainer and as long as they don't clash, she will play PDC Women's Series.
"I am on the WDF board as the players' commissioner so how would that look if I decided to do the Women's Series as part of the WDF.
"It's a no-brainer. Those tournaments were there in the calendar especially the Isle of Man, it's been going for years. It's great what the PDC are doing but the grassroots has been there for a long time for the ladies. I'm not going to abandon them.
"If they don't clash, I'll do it. But while I'm still on the WDF board, I'll support the WDF. I support who I'm there with."
