Askew loses out to Collins but finishes top of Icons of Darts League Group One on leg difference ahead of Monk

Askew though only just got over the line in the end after losing out to Robert Collins in his final game who had not claimed a win all day up to that point.

It went all the way to a decider in a match which saw Askew trail going into the final leg and after missing double ten for a 140 checkout, Collins claimed the victory.

This put the onus onto Arron Monk who edged past Paul Nicholson after coming from 2-1 down to break 3-2 up and from there he surged clear to claim a 5-3 victory but he finished second only on legs difference in a successful day also on debut for the former World Youth Champion.

The action will continue but not in the Icons of Darts Live League but in A Night at the Darts later including Raymond van Barneveld, Martin 'Wolfie' Adams, Week One winner David Evans and standout Wessel Nijman among others which begins at 6pm tonight and will continue like the Live League all week.
