Nicholson claims first win of the day over Collins, Askew wins third consecutive match

Nicholson saw off Robert Collins in a 5-2 win which saw 'The Asset' go 3-0 up with relative ease including hitting a 125 checkout.

Despite Collins then getting on the board, Nicholson then went one away from victory to make it 4-1 and even though the former then got a consolation leg from there, Nicholson claimed the victory and some important points.

Askew on the otherhand looks very likely to finish top of the standings after claiming a 5-1 win over Andy Jenkins to make it a hat-trick of wins today. He has looked superb in all his games so far and finished off with four 180's to his name.

Monk also claimed another win by seeing off Jenkins also in a hard fought win which saw him take out 100 in the deciding leg in a 5-4 victory which saw him hit a high checkout of 161 en route as he begins to gain more points as the day goes on.
