Aspinall concludes superb day of darts by claiming Players Championship 2 with victory over Price

Nathan Aspinall has claimed the second Players Championship event of the season after defeating Gerwyn Price in the final after a superb day of darts.

Aspinall averaged 101.3 in the final easing past Gerwyn Price in an 8-3 win and after streaking ahead, 'The Iceman' couldn't produce the comeback to defeat the UK Open champion who backs up superb displays as of late including in The Masters and his opening salvo in the Premier League.

His best performance of the day came in the Quarter-Finals; where he showed himself to be a force to be reckoned with today with a 117.5 average to dispel Peter Wright 6-4. It was revealed as the highest ever combined average in Players Championship history as the latter also hit a 113.7 average.

There was also brilliant wins over Gabriel Clemens 7-0 and Keegan Brown 6-5 (103 average); as well as the impressive Jason Lowe 6-3.
