Aspinall ends run of Brown to go through to World Series of Darts Finals semis

The latest man to book their place in the semi-finals of the World Series of Darts Finals is Nathan Aspinall. 'The Asp' emerged from a potentially tricky encounter with Keegan Brown 10-5.

In an incredibly scrappy opening leg, Brown took a 20-dart break of throw on double 12. Aspinall was able to quickly put that out of his mind though, opening leg 2 with a 180 and immediately breaking back. Despite being visibly frustrated, Aspinall headed off stage at the first interval with a narrow, 3-2 advantage.

After the break, a brilliant 130 checkout saw a roar from 'the Asp' as he extended his lead to two legs. Holding throw in the following leg, Aspinall moved three legs clear at 5-2. As Aspinall upped his level, Brown was struggling to keep hold of his opponent and at the second interval it was 7-3 to 'the Asp' with the World Matchplay champ having one foot in the semi-final.

As they returned, it was a similar story as Aspinall continued his charge towards the semi-final, taking leg 11 with a 56 checkout on tops. Brown though, wasn't ready to just roll over and pulled a leg back with a brilliant 120 checkout. After Aspinall moved one away from the win, Brown took back another leg at 9-5 but then couldn't pressure the Aspinall throw, leaving 'the Asp' free to clean up on double 8 and secure victory.
