Nathan Aspinall is among the trio who sit top of the
Premier League Darts table after hitting back-to-back 105 averages in his latest victory over Peter Wright.
Aspinall was delighted with the win and called it close to perfect if only he hadn't missed some darts at double early on.
"Great performance from myself. My scoring was brilliant, you take those first five darts I missed at double out, I think it was pretty much a perfect game. I don't really think I did much wrong and it was important to come back this week and kick off with a bang," said Aspinall post match.
The Stockport ace spoke afterwards and revealed that it was the relegation favourite tag that spurred him on to begin this year's tournament.
"It came from probably the week before that. Speaking to all the press and going you're favourite to be eliminated. I've not been playing that bad, I've just not been playing how everyone expects me to play.
"I'm a human being, I've just bought my first house, family members have had Covid. People think my life is throwing darts at a dart board and it's not and the last six months have been tough but now everything's right."
