Nathan Aspinall has taken the lead on the Players Championship Order of Merit after winning the seventh Players Championship event of the season.
The Stockport ace defeated Brendan Dolan 8-4 in the final. Dolan had a 4-2 lead after six legs, before Aspinall won six legs on the spin. The world number seven hit two 12-dart legs and finished off with a 14-darter to win the title.
He earned £10,000 with his victory,
which he will use for his wedding with his girlfriend Kirsty-Louise. Brendan Dolan receives £6,000 for reaching the final and jumped from the 14th place to the seventh position on the ranking.
World number one Michael van Gerwen is fourth as the Dutchman lost to The Asp in the Quarter-Finals on Saturday. Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright are also above Van Gerwen.
