The final of the PDC World Darts Championship between Peter Wright and Michael Smith attracted an audience of 1.49m people, it has been revealed by PDC Chairman, Eddie Hearn.
Hearn revealed the numbers on social media which make it the second highest audience in the tournament's history as 'Snakebite' claimed his second World title.
Known as a Christmas institution in the UK, it captured the imagination of the public who seemingly went to watch the final in their droves with these latest viewing figures.
