Nathan Aspinall is into the quarter-finals at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, pulverising a very below par Ricardo Pietreczko 4-0. In the last eight, either Ryan Joyce or Luke Littler awaits for 'The Asp'.

Although two-time World Darts Championship semi-finalist Aspinall was a more proven quantity on the biggest stage, based on their performances so far this tournament, Pietreczko arguably went into the contest as slight favourite. Although the German started strongly, taking the opening leg, it was 'The Asp' the took the opening set, making sure his opponent knew about it too as he let out a big roar following a set winning 88 checkout

With 'Pikachu' coming out the blocks really slowly in set 2, Aspinall cruised comfortably to a hold of throw in the opening leg before breaking in leg 2 to double his advantage in the set. Although the German had a dart at double 16 in the next leg, when he missed, Aspinall punished to make it 2-0 in sets.

As Pietreczko continued to struggle in the scoring terms, Aspinall eased to another break of throw in the first leg of set 3. Although 'Pikachu' got a rare dart at double in the next leg to break straight back, the German couldn't capitalise and Aspinall moved closer to a three set advantage. With Pietreczko starting to lose all composure due to his poor darts, Aspinall eased to a ninth straight leg, making it 3-0 in sets.

Aspinall started off set 4 with six perfect darts. Although the nine darter wasn't forthcoming, the leg was eventually taken for a 10th in a row. As 'The Asp' messed around on the doubles in the next leg though, 'Pikachu' finally stopped the rot on double 16 to level up set 4 at 1-1. Any hope the German had though, was quickly extinguished as Aspinall pinned a roof-raising 131 checkout to hold throw and then sealed victory on 10 moments later.
