On the floor,
Raymond van Barneveld made
a disappointing start to the season, but the Dutch darting icon was able to boost his confidence on Friday evening with two fine wins at an exhibition tournament in Wrexham, Wales.
There are no PDC events scheduled this weekend, giving PDC stars room to play lucrative
exhibitions and pick up some extra cash.
In Wrexham, alongside Raymond van Barneveld, Stephen Bunting,
Joe Cullen, and
Gerwyn Price were also in attendance.
At the start of the evening there was a meet & greet between the players and some fans, where visitors could get an autograph or have their photo taken with their heroes. The players then contested a few matches.
In the first match of the night, Van Barneveld faced Cullen, with the Dutchman edging it 3-1. Price then took on Bunting. The Bullet raced into a 2-0 lead, but The Iceman ultimately took the win 3-2.
Price then came up short against Van Barneveld. The five-time world champion fired in five 180s and beat the Welshman 4-2. In the closing match of the evening, Bunting was a 4-1 winner against Bunting. On Saturday evening, the four players will meet again. Bunting, Van Barneveld, Cullen, and Price will play another exhibition event in Swansea, also in Wales.
