On Sunday, more than 120 players once again battled for qualification to the European Tour events in Germany. After tickets for Göttingen and Munich were handed out the previous day, the focus now turned to the qualifiers for Riesa and Sindelfingen. Players from the host nation competed for four starting places per tournament.

Sindelfingen: Krohne and Unterbuchner come through

The day began with the qualifying tournament for Sindelfingen. A total of 129 players fought for a place in the field of the prestigious European Tour event.
Marcel Hausotter and Jan Schmidt were knocked out early, despite having qualified for Göttingen the day before. Florian Hempel, who had also been successful on Saturday, withdrew at short notice due to back problems.
Tour Card holder Maximilian Czerwinski took his one opportunity in the Host Nation Qualifier but was eliminated by Paul Krohne. Krohne later sealed his ticket to Sindelfingen with a convincing 6–1 victory over Patrick Klingelhöfer.
Michael Unterbuchner also qualified, defeating Finn Prokop 6–1 in the final to book his place.

Donnevert narrowly misses out – Masino surprises

Mika Donnevert, who had only just turned 18 a few days earlier, came agonisingly close to qualifying. In the final he faced the experienced Michael Hurtz.
Hurtz had reached the second round of a European Tour event twice more than twelve years ago. Donnevert held on until 4–4, but ultimately fell to a 6–4 defeat.
The final ticket went, somewhat surprisingly, to Robin Masino. He did not average more than 80 in any of his matches, yet still managed to defeat, among others, Marcel Hausotter and Luca Wolff on his way through. In the final, he beat Dominic Ferrero 6–2 to qualify for his first European Tour event.

Riesa: Krohne and Unterbuchner deliver again

The second qualifying event of the day, this time for Riesa, produced fewer surprises. Once again, Michael Unterbuchner and Paul Krohne emerged successful.
Both produced strong performances throughout the day to qualify for the seventh European Tour event of 2026. Krohne posted a 101 average in his final against Florian Drews to secure qualification.
Unterbuchner defeated Daniel Klose in the final with a 99 average. For Klose, it remains a surprise that he is yet to qualify for a European Tour event after four attempts this year.
Michael Hurtz narrowly missed out on qualifying for both tournaments, losing 6–4 in the final to 19-year-old Finn Behrens. Behrens therefore qualifies for his third European Tour event. He made his debut in Munich last year and had already re-qualified for Munich the day before.
The final ticket went to Liam Maendl-Lawrence. The Bavarian defeated veteran Andree Welge 6–2 in the final.
This means the German qualifiers for the first four European Tour events in Germany are now confirmed, unless further German players come through via the Tour Card Holder Qualifier. With Martin Schindler and Niko Springer permanently on the European Tour, there will be at least six German players represented at events on home soil.
Paul Krohne is the standout performer with three qualifications from the first four tournaments. Finn Behrens and Michael Unterbuchner have each secured two spots, while all other players have so far managed just a single qualification this year.
