Beau Greaves stars again among Players Championship 23 top averages as Kim Huybrechts leads Leicester list

Beau Greaves was back among the leading averages at Players Championship 23 in Leicester, posting another ton-plus figure in one of the most high-profile opening-round ties of the day.

Greaves averaged 102.96 against Stephen Bunting, placing seventh on the overall list, ahead of Wessel Nijman, Bunting, James Wade and eventual champion Cameron Menzies.
The highest average of the day came from Kim Huybrechts, who led the Leicester standings with 106.63 as Menzies went on to claim the title.

Greaves features again as Huybrechts tops the list

Huybrechts set the benchmark at PC23 with 106.63, finishing clear of Tom Sykes, who was second with 104.95.
Cristo Reyes followed with 104.86 during a day that ended with the Spaniard reaching the final, while Tom Bissell was fourth on 104.57 and Rob Cross fifth on 103.99 one event after winning Players Championship 22.
Chris Dobey also appeared twice near the top of the standings, recording 103.62 and 101.97.

Greaves’ 102.96 came in her opening clash with Bunting, one of the headline matches of the first round draw. Bunting also made the top averages list himself with 102.18, but Greaves’ figure was enough to put her inside the top 10 on another strong statistical day.

Reyes and Menzies both feature after Leicester final

Reyes backed up his run to the final with two entries inside the top 16. Alongside his 104.86, he also recorded 100.80 during a day where he beat Wessel Nijman and James Wade before losing 8-5 to Menzies in the final.
Menzies, the eventual champion, featured with 102.48 on his way to the title. Nijman recorded 102.60, while Norwegian Cor Dekker appeared twice with 102.49 and 101.68.

James Wade completed the ton-plus list with 100.84.
Menzies took the title, Huybrechts posted the highest average, and Greaves again finished among the leading statistical performers on another busy Players Championship day.
