Order of Merit Players Championship after PC 22 | Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting emerge as big winners, Luke Littler still bottom of the pile

The Players Championship series comprises a total of 34 tournaments which take place over Hildesheim, Wigan, Leicester, Milton Keynes and new for 2026, a trip to Den Bosch.

It sees the top names including Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen in action over the course of the year with the PDC ProTour being seen as the so-called Bread and Butter tournaments that help towards qualifying for most majors including the PDC World Darts Championship.

But the Players Championship Order of Merit is the one to watch for this series as it sees the top 64 players over the course of the season qualify for the Players Championship Finals which take place in Minehead at the end of November.

It is determined based on total prize money won by each player in the Players Championship events throughout the year. The top 64 qualify and it also spells some issues as it did in 2025 for the likes of Luke Littler, Nathan Aspinall and Luke Humphries who had to qualify late. Michael van Gerwen for instance did not qualify at all.

Rob Cross was the big winner during the latest Players Championship tournament winning the title and hoisting himself into the top 10 of the Order of Merit.

Cross went up 18 spots from 28th to 10th and was joined in big rises by Stephen Bunting who reached the latter stages and he went from 14th to 9th.

Maik Kuivenhoven reached the final and also cashed in as a result in a big year which could see him lose his Tour Card. He went from 38th to 18th up 20 spots. Tom Bissell has been ultra consistent this year and he has gone from 22nd to 15th rising again.

Also Gabriel Clemens was one of the big winners going from 48th to 42nd. While Tommy Morris who has impressed on the MODUS Super Series has gone from 75th to 62nd. Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen went down from 26th to 29th and 24th to 27th.

While Luke Littler remains bottom of the pile as fans await him finally deciding to play ProTour. Unlikely at the bottom.
