Cameron Crabtree may have scooped the latest PDC Development Tour title in what is his fifth crown of the year but the main story comes from a certain Beau Greaves.
Greaves now can't be caught in the Development Tour Order of Merit and so subject to acceptance will become a PDC Tour Card holder in 2026 and 2027 in some big news in the darting world.
That subject to acceptance is sort of up in the air. Greaves has showed a want to play on the ProTour this year playing more PDC darts and not playing a single WDF event and has said she is leaning more towards the Ally Pally coup than Lakeside where she has often played instead snubbing the last two editions.
Crabtree saw off Viktor Tingstrom 5-2 after seeing off Dylan Dowling and Jamie McKinnon in the latter rounds. Charlie Manby was the main player who could catch him, he hit a 111 average en route to the Quarter-Finals but needed to win the title to prevent Greaves from winning the Tour Card. He lost to Jack Drayton.
This after Greaves had lost in the Last 32 to Tyler Thorpe who averaged 93 in winning 4-1. Crabtree leads the Development Tour Order of Merit with £17,475 compared to £14,300. But Crabtree is already a Tour Card holder.
Greaves also qualifying for the World Darts Championship this route means that Fallon Sherrock also benefits likely qualifying through the Women's Series instead of Greaves. She becomes the first since Lisa Ashton to win her Tour Card outright with Ashton doing so at Q-School. Only two events remain tomorrow before the PDC World Youth Championship is set to take place on Monday with the early rounds set.
The final will be confirmed which will take place in November during the Players Championship Finals and Greaves could feasibly play in it and she would be one of the favourites to win it.
