Robbie Knops has to put the arrows away for now. An unfortunate fall while working caused him to fracture a vertebra.
The Belgian Tour Card holder works as a roofer. While doing his job, Knops had a big fall on Tuesday. He slipped and in the process fell not from the roof, but on a roof, his partner reported in a message on Facebook shared by Het Nieuwsblad.
On Wednesday, Knops will see a specialist for further examination. It is clear, however, that the 40-year-old dart player from Wellen, Belgium, will not need to undergo an operation, but will need at least six weeks to recover.
That means Knops will also not be able to play any (PDC) darts tournaments in the coming period. The advantage for the Belgian, however, is that the next few weeks will be mostly Euro Tour tournaments for which Knops did not qualify. He will reportedly only have to miss four Players Championship tournaments (15-16 April and 20-21 May) during his rehabilitation.
