Last weekend,
Lex Paeshuyse continued his impressive performance on the Advanced Tour, a competition for players under 18. The tour features 32 players who compete in 20 tournaments across five weekends, with every match bringing intense action.
Paeshuyse, who was crowned World Champion at the
JDC World Championship for players under 18 last year and also claimed the World Masters title in the boys’ category at the WDF, is known as a rising star in the darts world. The Belgian, who already made a strong start during the opening weekend, came out swinging again this weekend. He dominated the fifth tournament, defeating Englishman Mason Teese 6-1 in the final.
However, his momentum was slightly interrupted in the sixth tournament. Despite his best efforts, Paeshuyse was knocked out in the quarterfinals by top English talent Jayden Walker.
On Sunday, the 13-year-old Belgian bounced back in the seventh and eighth tournaments, reaching the last 16 and the quarterfinals, respectively. These strong performances have helped him climb to second place in the overall standings, where he is currently only trailing Englishman Ryan Branley.
With a short break now in place, players will recharge before the next Advanced Tour events, which are scheduled for the weekend of April 5th and 6th.
