Big stage wins and becoming a father have given Noppert belief with Players Championship 2 win: "I am always feeling positive"

It was a fourth PDC title for Danny Noppert on Sunday in Barnsley as he cleaned up Players Championship 2 with victory over Simon Whitlock in the final.

Speaking afterwards, Noppert who was one of the top money earners on the Order of Merit last year said that the big stage wins and also the birth of his son off the oche have given him belief and confidence.

“It was a good day. I wasn’t at my very best level, but my finishing was brilliant,” reflected Noppert.

“There are 128 good players here and sometimes you don’t play your best game, but against Simon in the final, I produced a good performance and I’m very happy with the win.

“Last year I had a really good year and I am really proud of my performance here. I feel really emotional. I am speechless.

“When you win games and tournaments like I have on the big stage, I have more belief and I think my son being born last year gave me a really positive feeling. I am always feeling positive.”
