The top-32 seedings list has been confirmed for the PDC
World Darts Championship from December 15 - January 3 with
Luke Humphries likely to meet
Raymond van Barneveld in the Last 32.
The top-32 players in the world enter the World Darts Championship from the second round. They meet a Pro Tour qualifier or one of the international qualifiers in the second round. The seeds can meet from the third round. If Humphries and Van Barneveld both win their opening match, they will face each other in the last 32 at the World Darts Championship. James Wade may face Peter Wright in the third round, while Stephen Bunting, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Damon Heta and Mike de Decker are in the bottom of the first quarter.
At least a repeat of the last World Championship final is not in the cards for the upcoming edition of the World Darts Championship. Teenage sensation
Luke Littler tops the second quarter, meaning Littler and Humphries may face each other in the semifinals. Danny Noppert, Gian van Veen, Ritchie Edhouse, Ryan Searle, Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall and Andrew Gilding are in this quarter.
The third quarter is a very interesting one, including former world champions
Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price. Smith has Krzysztof Ratajski, Chris Dobey and Josh Rock in his portion of the quarter. Jonny Clayton, Daryl Gurney and Joe Cullen are near Price.
Michael van Gerwen is the highest ranked player in the fourth quarter. The three-time world champion could face Brendan Dolan in the third round if all goes according to
seeding. At the last sixteen, however, a reunion with his Scottish rival
Gary Anderson may await Van Gerwen. The Flying Scotsman may have to beat Ross Smith in the third round. Dave Chisnall, Gabriel Clemens, Dimitri van den Bergh and Martin Schindler are the other four
seeds in the bottom quarter.
The draw for the PDC World Darts Championship will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 25, at 4:30 p.m. Then it will become clear where the 32 Pro Tour players and the 32 international qualifiers will end up in the bracket.
This year's World Darts Championship begins on Sunday, December 15. Traditionally, defending champion Humphries will be in action on opening night. Until Monday, December 23, the matches from the first two rounds will be played. After the Christmas break (Dec. 24-26), the tournament will resume. The final of the World Darts Championship is on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
