Bunting comes from set down to edge past Boulton in sudden death thriller

Stephen Bunting is through to the Third Round of the PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off Andy Boulton in a sudden death thriller.

Bunting will now have James Wade in his sights after coming from a set down to defeat 'X-Factor'.

Boulton as alluded to took the lead to begin the tie claiming the opener 3-1 with an 86 checkout for an 11-darter capitalising on a 76 average from Bunting.

From there, the duo exchanged ton plus checkouts with Boulton taking out 149 to lead but Bunting came from nowhere with a 148 to level up. This proved the catalyst as his average increased to 86 and he claimed the second set 3-2.

Bunting took control from there taking out 109 to claim the third set without reply and take the lead making it six legs from seven.

Boulton stopped the rot though and punished missed doubles from Bunting to coast to the fourth set himself 3-0 and force a decider.

Bunting struck first taking out 120 to move 2-1 up in the fifth set and one away but Boulton picked out double eight to force a decider at 2-2 with Bunting having the throw.

'The Bullet' struck when it mattered most with an 84 checkout for an 11-darter to claim victory and deny Boulton a chance.
