Suljovic produces impressive display to end Edgar's World Championship run

Mensur Suljovic has ended Matthew Edgar's run at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship by claiming a 3-1 sets victory to win through to the Third Round.

Suljovic averaged 98.2 with seven 180's en route and will now face a familiar foe in Gary Anderson in the Last 32.

'The Gentle' produced a great start with the first set being sewn up 3-0 with Edgar not getting a shot at a double as he took an early lead.

Edgar finally got on the board in style in the next set as he pinned a 108 checkout and he took out 64 from there in the deciding leg to claim the second set and level the match.

It was back to the start though for Suljovic as he sealed the third set without reply to regain the lead as his average was just below 100.

A pivotal 140 checkout followed as he immediately broke in the next set and he concluded the tie from there in a brilliant display.
