Bunting reflects after opening Grand Slam account against Dobey: "I've really underperformed but I've got the win"

Stephen Bunting was on the losing end against Ryan Joyce despite a 106 average but opened up his Grand Slam of Darts account by seeing off Chris Dobey 5-3 in a hard fought win.

As a result, he still took massive confidence from that Joyce display and felt like this time he underperformed but still claimed it.

"I threw the kitchen sink at Ryan Joyce yesterday and unfortunately it didn't happen but when I left myself 148, I thought it was going. Today I feel like I've really underperformed but I've got the win," said Bunting post match.

"I had to take massive confidence out of that game yesterday, it could have went either way and it was a great performance by both players."

"Obviously the TV performances over the last few months have been really good and people have enjoyed watching me. So I've just got to keep it up, I'm happy at home and I'm happy at the darts."
