Jonny Clayton only needs a few legs against Mervyn King after seeing off Bradley Brooks to put himself on the cusp of Grand Slam qualification.
Speaking after he is under no illusion at the task that presents itself in the Grand Slam and was glad to get over the line against a talent he lauded praise on.
"Brilliant player, young up and coming talent, I knew I had a tough game so I'm glad to get over that line," said Clayton post match.
"I wish I was through, it'd be much easier. It is what it is and this tournament is hard and I look forward to it tomorrow night."
A collision course with Gerwyn Price remains and he said he gift wrapped him the title in Leicester which Clayton replied.
"There's always banter around it. Hopefully play each other, he didn't gift me that I played well. Sorry Gez."
