Byrne thrashes Turner to seal maiden PDC Women's Series title

Robyn Byrne continues to improve and joins the illustrious list of players to win PDC Women's Series titles with the second tournament of the weekend not to go the way of Beau Greaves.

Greaves was beaten by finalist, Laura Turner 5-4, with the Order of Merit leader averaging 75 in defeat and Byrne took down Lisa Ashton in the semi-finals before easing past Turner, also a Sky Sports pundit and commentator 5-1.

Fallon Sherrock herself fell to Ashton in the Quarter-Finals in a 5-3 defeat despite averaging 92. For Byrne, it is a third final and finally a victory as she puts herself in a great position for a Blackpool debut in July.

The ladies can earn prize money with their results. These performances count towards the final rankings. The top two players get to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Darts Championship. Moreover, after 12 tournaments, the top eight of the rankings will receive an invitation to the first Women's World Matchplay.
