Cadby sealed Tour Card without essentials packed for him by mum: "She missed my shoes, she packed me one set of darts, one set of socks"

Corey Cadby will soon make his comeback on the Pro Tour. The 27-year-old Australian captured his Tour Card last week.

However, Cadby noticed on arrival in Germany that he did not have all his equipment with him.

“My mum packed by bag, thanks mum!,” he said in an interview with The Sportsman Management Company. “She missed my shoes, my dart case. She packed me one pair of stems, one pair of flights, one set of darts, one set of socks.”

'The King' captured his Tour Card on Friday 13 January, no surprise for the superstitious Cadby. “I’ve got 13 tattooed on me in a couple of places, it’s my favourite number,” he explained. “My entry number was 13, the table I was sitting at was 13, the board in the final was 13.”

“The other day, we were having dinner and my brother’s funeral song came on. So I believe it’s an omen.”

Expectations

Cadby thus returns to the Pro Tour three years after voluntarily surrendering his Tour Card. “Solid performance all round, make a few quid here and there, that’s always going to be good.

“But just to get my mind, confidence and arrogance back. Not so much arrogance, but my ability to know that I’m going to win.”
