Campbell on tough Lewis World Darts Championship draw: "I never have fears, he's obviously quality"

Matt Campbell will make his third appearance at the Alexandra Palace when he faces off against Adrian Lewis with a task of Gary Anderson awaiting if he gets through that.

Campbell came over early before the PDC World Darts Championship and not being a fully fledged Tour Card holder yet, he played in the Online Darts League.

He gave his mindset on his tie against Lewis and the pressure is all on Jackpot he believes.

"Getting really excited for it," said Campbell to Online Darts. "I don't think any draw is going to be easy but I think if I play my game and the pace is good, it should be an interesting match."

"I never have fears, he's obviously quality or he wouldn't be a two-time World Champion so I just go up and kind of makes it easier on me because you expect what he's going to do to you anyway."

He claimed the European Challenge Tour title which means that he will come over and play on the ProTour from next season which he was always going to do.

"I was always going to take my crack at whatever PDC stuff I could do so if I didn't get my Tour Card through Q-School then yeah still going to get the learning experience through the Challenge Tour."

Despite that, he still has a job at home albeit with supportive backing from his work.

"They're pretty supportive about it so it's nice to have that backing knowing that they'll let me come here when I have to and when I'm home, I still have a job."
