The new CDC season officially kicks off this Friday with the annual Cross-Border Darts Challenge in California. The two-day tournament will be held at the HitKor complex in Simi Valley and will showcase the top darts players from the United States and Canada.

Sixteen competitors—eight from each country—will battle not only for the title but also for a coveted spot in the 2025 US Darts Masters and the North American Darts Championship.

American favourite Alex Spellman, who threw a nine-darter on his way to the title last year, begins his title defense against fellow countryman Jason Roker. Also in action is Leonard Gates, winner of the 2024 Continental Cup and a well-known figure on the North American circuit. He faces Chris Caldwell in the opening round.

The charismatic Stowe Buntz will take on Albert Anstey, while experienced Canadian Jeff Smith is set to face Jeff Springer. Jacob Taylor goes head-to-head with former UK Open finalist Gary Mawson, and Adam Sevada will square off against Kiley Edmunds. Doug Boehm meets Steve Warnock, and Jake Womack and Jack Robinson will clash for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Following Friday's opening round, the tournament continues on Saturday with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the grand final. The winner will secure entry into two of the biggest darts events on North American soil later this year. The US Darts Masters will also feature eight top players from the PDC.
