Several top players skip Pro Tour duel in the Netherlands as Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price headline Players Championship 13-14 lineup

Top dart players continue to show limited interest in the Players Championship tournaments held outside the United Kingdom. Much like the earlier events in Rosmalen this year, several high-profile names are once again absent.
Notable Tour Card holders missing from the April 14–15 doubleheader include Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross, Joe Cullen, Luke Humphries, Ryan Joyce, and Luke Littler. Also sitting out are Brett Claydon, Adam Paxton, Tim Wolters, and Jules van Dongen.

Of the eight Premier League players, four will compete in Rosmalen before heading to Rotterdam later in the week for the 11th round of Premier League Darts. Michael van Gerwen is among them - unsurprisingly, as the venue is just a 15-minute drive from his hometown of Vlijmen. He’ll be joined by Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall, and Chris Dobey in the 13th and 14th Players Championship tournaments of the season.
Other big names confirmed to play include Gary Anderson, Dave Chisnall, Ryan Searle, Michael Smith, James Wade, and Peter Wright.
Each Players Championship tournament offers a prize fund of £125,000, with the winner taking home £15,000.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
