Chisnall on fan return to World Matchplay after Van der Voort win: "We want that feeling"

Dave Chisnall produced one of the displays of the opening night of action at the 2021 World Matchplay as he defeated Vincent van der Voort 10-8.
A flurry of combination finishes hitting 124, 161 and 100 saw him move ahead and towards the finishing line but for the St Helens ace, he was delighted to be back in front of a crowd again.
"It was amazing to be back in front of fans, absolutely brilliant, and we want that feeling," said Chisnall. "It was nice to have them back and to win.
"I was feeling good today. The 161 gave me a lot of confidence but it was a nip and tuck game all the way through."

- We don't need the Saudi's money and prohibitive laws. Simply take the World's to other countries like Germany, Holland, Scotland, Poland, Belgium. Not only will you get sell out crowds with bigger venues but it will also freshen up the comp a bit. Let's face it Ally Pally is getting a bit boring now. - Am probably going to be in a small minority, i would not miss the walk ons, best part used to be the lovely ladies which obviously now makes me a misogynist. Its all part of the razzamatazz show business side and its not that long so not something that winds me up however some of the walk on choices are abysmal while some work, MVG and Seven Nation Army being an example.
