Chisnall seals fourth career European Tour title with superb win over Humphries in Baltic Sea Darts Open Final

After previously not winning a European Tour title since 2019, Dave Chisnall has won two out of the past three tournaments sealing the Baltic Sea Darts Open to begin the 2023 season.

Chisnall won the penultimate tournament in the German Darts Championship last season and was superb in seeing off Luke Humphries in an 8-5 win in Kiel on Sunday evening. He produced a 101 average, eight 180's despite hitting only 26.7% on the doubles.

Double trouble was the issue for Humphries to start the tie as Chisnall held and then broke throw to make it 3-0 in the early going but back came 'Cool Hand Luke'.

He sealed back-to-back legs to close the gap before then sealing parity with an 81 checkout on the bull but missed darts crept in again and Chisnall went 4-3 up.

He surged ahead from there restoring his two leg cushion at 6-4 after missing a 170, he hit double 19 and a sixth 180 and double five put him one away from there.

Chisnall though wired one match dart at double 20 and allowed Humphries to make it 7-5 but finally he got over the line on double five with Humphries being sportsmanlike and hushing any boos and whistling when Chisnall was going for the double.
