The
World Series of Darts Finals has began in Amsterdam with victories for
Dave Chisnall and
Ryan Joyce to open Friday evening's proceedings in the Dutch capital.
Joyce began the session with a 6-5 win over Danny Baggish, who was on a high after sealing his Ally Pally return but couldn't defeat 'Relentless' who produced a 14-darter in the deciding leg to seal it.
Baggish started brighter with a 119 checkout to break throw and went 3-2 up but Joyce started a run of three legs on the spin including a 71 checkout on the bull en route to going 5-4 up.
'The Gambler' comfortably held throw but Joyce threw in the decider and wrapped it up on double 16.
While Chisnall saw off Jamie Hughes wrapping up a 6-3 win over 'Yozza' as he looks to continue the recent form he has shown on the European Tour and it was certainly a display of a man in form with a 98.3 average, three 180's and a high checkout of 155.
That 155 was to start the tie and after exchanging legs, Chisnall surged into the distance going 4-1 up. Hughes responded breaking back at 4-3 but pivotally missed two at double 12 and Chizzy broke back and made him pay going onto seal the win and will now face Joe Cullen in a repeat of 2022 Masters final.
